Ehon: The Artist and the Book in Japan is an exhibit curated by The New York Public Library. It showcases the history and beauty of the Japanese tradition of ehon, or “picture books,” most of which also feature essays, poems, or other texts written in calligraphy.
Aside from announcing the exhibit, this poster series shows that though ehon is a tradition that has spanned 1,200 years, it is alive and well, and continues to captivate the imagination of modern artists and audiences alike.
